4 Instagram purchases I talked myself out of at 1am
I should just delete my CC info from Apple Pay, it's too easy.
Hi Geezers,
Another sleepless night in the land of potty training a puppy from the 26th floor of an apartment building (ahhhh) and insomnia had me doing the one thing all doctors, health professionals, and basically everyone alive says not to do: scrolling aimlessly on my phone until two hours had passed. Whoops.
During this time I saved a bunch of links to things I saw on Instagram that I was tempted to research more and maybe buy. Thought I’d share a few with you! Another thing I saved but isn’t really something to buy: this one-pot lazy lasagne. Chic!!!
Here are 4 products that found their way to me:
This dog grooming machine, probably because this week I Googled “self-wash dog grooming near me” several different times. Am I tempted? Yes. Did the ad make it look easy? Yes. Do I think I would somehow mess it up? Yes. Absolutely.
FWIW, I don’t really want to cut the dogs’ hair, but I do want to dry them in a way that doesn’t bother them and helps their coats stay silky smooth with no matting. Instagram said bet.
Beware: IG ad was for this random-ass website, I am not endorsing it or the product, just linking to what got served to me. FurMe.
These $9 glasses at a site that sort of looks like Temu for glasses called FYOTOO. Gotta say, I am tempted; I have to wear glasses all day long so I have a lot of different frames and for me it’s quantity over quality. A little into my clicking I did realize the $9 price was the base but adding an Rx and a few other extras like “water-resistant” got me to $34. Still good. Might buy.
These ice cubes that are actually toner pods, and you rub them on your face. When I first saw these, my immediate thought was: fancy ice cubes for people with excellent bathroom lighting. But they’re frozen toner pods that you keep in the freezer and swipe over your face to help with puffiness, redness, and general “I slept weird and now my face looks weird” situations. I’m skeptical, but I also know that putting something cold on my face feels amazing (duh, I have a million product recs for this exact thing, use code GEETHANKS), so I can absolutely see myself going for this and convincing myself it’s more than rubbing a skincare popsicle on my cheeks.
The thing giving this product a fighting chance is that I know Sofie Pavitt’s stuff is genuinely excellent. I’ve liked pretty much everything I’ve tried from the brand, so while I would normally roll my eyes, this might be the one that actually gets me to click BUY NOW.
I was served an ad for an art print from a website called GOODMOODPRINTS which sells, you guessed it, a lot of art prints. Seems to ship from the UK. I do love an art print. Instagram, you get me.
