6 recent Target finds that totally surprise people
"You got that from TARGET?"
Hi Geezers,
Obviously we’re all Target Heads (and fans of Louisa F. Target, founder and CEO, and storied ex-wife of Real John Max), but sometimes the big box store knocks it out of the park beyond expectation. They are especially killing it with home decor this year. (Did you know we brought the podcast back? More details here!)
Let’s get into it.
First, this John Derian For Target set of 4 Midnight Dreary Black Bird Highballs are giving Fish’s Eddy. The last two people who asked me for a glass at my house took one of these and said, “Fish’s Eddy?” which is how I know. Much like the Gucci-esque snake plates, they aren’t super Halloweeny if they aren’t surrounded by similarly vibed decor, so you can use these all year. I know I will (I am not at a point in my life where I swap out glassware with the seasons, so everything I bring into my kitchen has to feasibly fit into a 365 approach).
This snake pitcher! Keeping on theme, this is just chic, I think, for all of the time. Maybe that’s the New York in me but I don’t see a time of year where a snake pitcher wouldn’t be appropriate? If you don’t use a pitcher for beverages (and I often don’t), use it as a vase for flowers. #groundbreaking
Once! Again! Keeping on theme! If your era is Rep, these are for you. There’s so much snake decor at Target right now it makes me think there’s some sort of RepTV tie-in we don’t know about yet. Either way, I am into it.

This lamp is a Jungalow collection, and it’s seriously SO stunning in person. The photos do not do it justice. For being a neutral, it really pops in a room of color and acts as a blank canvas to help pull my various pieces of mismatched-by-choice decor together. Not only do people not guess it’s from Target, most of my guests assumed I paid big bucks for it. I didn’t! Here’s the full version.
This highly-rated denim trench convinced me I had to buy it and I am glad I did (I take my typical XL). It’s chic, and all of my Target jean jackets have lasted a long time. It is very similar to one I saw at Zara that isn’t as inclusively sized or priced.
This candle smells wonderful, but for under $20 the real grab is the vessel, which you can clean out and reuse as a drinking glass or a place for pens or a bud vase when you’re done burning. I know. You’re welcome.

Oud and Amber is Target’s best candle scent, IMO! And one of the only nice ouds that you can find at the budget level.
