Banana, I was unfamiliar with your game!
I stan GAP. I stan Old Navy. But now...
Hi Geezers,
I want to tell you something, and I’m going to be quick about it because it’s a Monday night, it’s the first nice day of the year in New York City, and there’s a closed laptop and Diet Coke at an outdoor table calling my name.
Here’s what I have to tell you: Banana Republic has some incredible pieces this season, both in the new arrivals section and in the sale section. When I shared this on IG Stories, so many Geezers were like, “Yeah, low-key my favorite place to shop for the first time in 20 years.” And I was like, cool, when were you going to tell me?
(Also it’s almost DOTY time…stay tuned…)
But okay, so I wrote off BR a long time ago. For years it felt so, like, matronly compared to its more classic cousin GAP and its less expensive kid sister, Old Navy. It’s a classic mall brand for me; I don’t usually type in the dot com, and I haven’t been to the mall since Christmas…of 2024.
So how was I to know Banana was peddling GORGEOUS dresses (silk! cotton! linen!) dresses until I got served an ad for this one:
Um, hello? I haven’t tried this on yet, but it’s exactly the kind of dress I want to live in all summer. Linen, a simple flattering shape, and pockets. If it fits the way I’m hoping it will, this feels like a throw-on-with-sandals-and-look-great situation. Ordered immediately, and will report back.
I also added these two dresses to my order, this first one in 100% silk and under $175 (it’s currently on sale). Two of my cousins are getting married this summer, and I have been on the hunt for one beautiful dress I can wear to both. I want this to be THE ONE.
And this one, which I am buying purely to manifest a black-tie event to wear it to. This one has some stretch it it, so I ordered two sizes since I’m between. Also on sale!
It’s the last few days to spend that FSA money that won’t roll over after March 15. If you’re thinking, I don’t have FSA money, just check. I got messages from two Geezers this week who checked and both found over $200 in their accounts, which would have just… poof, disappeared.
Wondering what to spend it on? Look no further than:
Already have a TheraFace purchased from Dermstore with code GEETHANKS? Well then you should get a scalp scrub, specifically this one from Christophe Robin. I love this because it’s the fastest way I know to reset my scalp. It’s basically a salt scrub for your head, and it clears out all the buildup that quietly accumulates from dry shampoo, styling products, and even sunscreen along your hairline. When I rinse it out, my scalp feels actually clean and my hair dries with that light, weightless feeling that’s hard to get from regular shampoo.
And the OG Geezers know this one. I’ve been recommending it since the very first year of Gee Thanks! and it’s one of those products that’s stayed in my rotation for years because nothing else quite gives me that same reset. And I only use it 1x a month so a jar of it can last almost a year.
AND YES, YOU CAN USE FSA MONEY ON IT, and get 25% off right now during the Spring Refresh sale at Dermstore with code GEETHANKS.
