Anything I Should Know?: You think there’s a catch, but there’s not. It’s legitimately such a “duh” product that once you buy one it becomes an instant staple household appliance.

It’s September 1, which means the summer haters (hi!) can rejoice. Yes, I know, September 1 is not technically summer and yes, it’s still hot out (climate change is real), but crank that AC to 60 degrees, put on You’ve Got Mail and light a candle and you’ve got yourself a cozy little situation.

I’m the first to admit I’m a basic b for fall. I love a boot. I love a scarf. I love not sweating. And speaking of candles, I love candles.

We’ve talked about candles here before. We love candles. We’re Candles Hoes.

Usually I buy matches in bulk from the grocery store or I use the massive Bic lighter I use to light the fire pit in the backyard.

But matches end up as garbage and the lighters eventually run out of fluid and then it’s like, where do you buy more lighter fluid for a Bic lighter? And even if I could find the answer, would I actually ever? No. So then that’s probably trashed, and then replaced by another Bic lighter for another $10.

I don’t want to be making multiple lighter purchases a year. That is not a good use of money.

A few months ago I bought a flameless, chargeable lighter off Amazon in a moment of impulse because Instagram, sensing my Candle Hoe status, kept showing me a $49 version that came in Instagrammy colors. $49, again, feels steep for this! A quick Amazoogle (this is when you search for something on Amazon, FYI) brought me to hundreds of different versions of a product I did not know existed: a flameless lighter that takes a charge.

The better news: Most all of them were under $10. Some of them even came in cute colors!

The one I bought: Candle Lighter SUPRUS Rechargeable Electric Arc Lighter Triple Safety Long Lighter Stainless Steel Shell & Hanging Hook with 360°Flexible Neck (Green). Love the name. Rolls right off the tongue.

The Goods: A childproof lock on the shaft of the lighter. A max 7 second switch on time. A rotating neck to get down into the last of the last of burnt down candles to live up to your full Hoe potential.

The Caveat Emptor: None, really? I mean it’s not that deep! Under $10! Candle Szn!
