When I stopped doing Amazon recs in August 2024, I knew I wanted to replace that content with something that still scratched the same itch as all the regular Gee Thanks! shopping content: finding great and weird stuff, talking about why it’s great, helping you shop smarter, and hopefully saving you some money along the way. Thrifting has become that for me. What started as a passive hobby in 2016 has become a very active one. I go 2–3 times a week, I take tons of photos, and I have accumulated a great wealth information about what is worth grabbing, what I leave behind, and how (and where!) to find the good stuff without spending six hours digging through racks.
So that’s what we’re doing for Premium subscribers. The finds, the prices, the strategy, the weird art, the $12 Bottega, the 100-year-old desk, the hotel ashtrays, the things I regret leaving behind, all of it. I want it to feel fun, useful, and like you are basically thrifting with me without having to get in the car.
