The only problem with this sleep upgrade is that I didn't buy it sooner
Don't lose sleep over it.
Hi Geezers,
A few months ago, a bunch of us bought a BedJet at the same time. Since then, I have been waiting for someone to tell me they regretted it.
No one has.
That feels worth mentioning, especially because the BedJet is currently back down to its sale price $498, down from roughly $700. (You don’t need a particular type of mattress or sheet to use this!)
BASICS:
• It heats and cools.
• You can schedule different temperatures throughout the night.
• You can save profiles for multiple users.
• The airflow is much stronger than I expected.
• It comes with a remote.
• It does not require special sheets or a new mattress.
Honestly, this is one of those products that sounds excessive until you try it, and then you start wondering why temperature-controlled beds are not standard. It makes falling asleep easier, keeps you from waking up sweaty or freezing, and turns getting into bed into the best part of the day. If you are a hot sleeper, a cold sleeper, share a bed with someone who runs at a completely different temperature, or simply love making your home feel slightly more luxurious, I think you will use this constantly. At $498, it is still an investment, but it is an investment in something you use every single night.
For anyone who missed the original BedJet discourse, it is a plug and play temperature-control system for your bed. The machine itself is about the size of a shoebox and sits underneath the bed. A hose runs under your top sheet or duvet and sends warm or cool air beneath the covers.
I am someone who wants to fall asleep in a meat locker, remain perfectly cool for several hours, and then wake up warm without ever experiencing the horror of being sweaty at 3am or freezing at 7am. The BedJet lets me do exactly that.
With the app or remote, you can adjust both the temperature and the strength of the airflow, and the settings are much more specific than I expected. It is not just low, medium, or high. You can fine-tune the temperature and fan speed, program changes throughout the night, and save different profiles for different people.
And like I said, it also works with the mattress, sheets, duvet, and bed frame you already own. No special setup required. AND!! It is quiet. My dogs sit right in front of the hose happily, and they bark at things like vacuums and nothing at all, so I consider that a meaningful endorsement.
Just a reminder, the BedJet is not beautiful. The hose can create a little hump under the covers, and the whole setup is slightly medical-device-adjacent. But when my bed is ice cold on a 97-degree day, I suddenly become very forgiving about aesthetics. I also push the hose under the bed with the box when I make my bed in the morning, and it’s not like some big effort to pop it back in each night.
