Hi Geezers,
A note: Based on the overwhelming response from the initial email that went out about this, I figured it made sense to send another ICYMI because this sale is a Big Deal. Right now Last Call Sabahs are on sale for $150, which is about $60 from their median $210 price point, and that’s better than their Black Friday sale which usually knocks about $42 off the $210. The more you know!
A few quick and new pieces of info based on FAQs in my inbox last night after I sent this out:
Do they provide arch support?: These shoes are incredibly comfortable, but if you need a ton of arch support, they might not check that box right out of the gate. You can make them work with an insole, though. If that’s your plan, I suggest going with the men’s version (same shoe, just a touch wider).
What if I have wide feet?: The men’s version is exactly the same, just a tad wider. Use the same sizing strategy: go up one full size from your usual. For example, if you’re somewhere between a 9 and a 9.5, but closer to a 9.5, order a 41. If you’re closer to a 9, order a 40. I am almost always a 10.5, so I order a 43.
Can I wear socks with them?: Sure! I don’t! I would lean in and wear something like this over a no-show. Just go for it.
TLDR? Sabahs are on sale. They are almost never on sale. It’s their last call sale and it includes a bunch of Sabahs (these are the loafer-type shoes) and the Babahs (the mules). I can only speak for the Sabahs! PS: Size up a full size. I am usually a 41.5 in an Euro sizing, and I wear a Women’s 43 in Sabahs.
Lately I’ve been getting DMs like:
“What shoes can I wear to work with socks for fall?”
“I need something that isn’t a ballet flat, isn’t chunky, isn’t a heel, but isn’t a boot…”
My answer to all of these is the same: buy your first pair of Sabahs. They cover all the bases. Work, errands, travel, dinner, weekend walks — they’re the rare shoe that fits in every category.
I wore my red Sabahs to the dentist the other day, and sitting in the waiting room I had this moment of: wow, these really are my default shoe.
Because here’s the thing: Sabahs are the only shoe I’ve been consistently loyal to for years. I bought the red pair in May 2020, and they’ve only gotten more comfortable over time. At this point, I have eight pairs in different colors, and I wear a pair at least 4 days a week.
BUT: Sabahs rarely ever go on sale. Like, almost never. I bought all of my pairs full-price like an insane person. But then…today’s Last Call Sale happened, and now I’m realizing I could have just waited and saved myself a lot of money.
(Learn from me. Don’t do what I did.)
A little background: Sabahs are handmade in Gaziantep, Turkey by expert shoemakers using a centuries-old technique. Each pair is stitched by hand, no two pairs exactly the same, and you can feel that quality immediately. They’re forever shoes.
What makes them so irresistible? A few things:
They last forever. I’ve got a pair that’s five years old and a pair that’s two weeks old, and honestly both look and feel great in different ways. They age beautifully.
They’re ridiculously comfortable. I can walk miles in them, truly. I wear them barefoot, and they never smell. Ever. YMMV but I would NEVER wear my Rothy’s without socks to a no-shoes house. IYKYK. As much as I love my Rothy’s. But Sabahs? No smell, no problem. All 8 pairs. I STG.
They get better with time. Like a great leather bag or jacket, they mold to your foot. Look hard enough and you can see my big toe in the blue shoe above. Each pair feels custom after a few weeks of wear.
They come in endless colors. Red, orange, blue, black, green (forest, mint, light… I can’t stop), yellow, pink — you name it. They make neutral workhorse shades and fun pop-of-color pairs.
They don’t know a season. I’ve worn Sabahs to the beach, I’ve worn them to Thanksgiving dinner. I wore so many pairs to Dilaria rehearsals that people eventually started asking, “Wait… is that the same shoe but in pink? Blue? Purple?” (Answer: yes, and also yes.)
You can get your pair resoled: Any cobbler would be able to make your Sabah soles as good as new after a few years. Though my red and blue pairs are my oldest, and are no where near needing the attention of a cobbler.
And people ask me constantly: Are they worth the money? My answer: Beyond. And on sale? Forget it. Duh. Yes. I’ve been recommending them for years and will keep doing so. I don’t know what else to say other than, do you hear me? I have eight pairs. That’s not normal. I understand that. And yet, I cannot be stopped. I have an addiction, sir! I’ve converted so many of you already.
They’re one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

I wear my babahs maybe more often than the full loafer. Maybe because it fancies up grungy pajamas on a dog walk or as I swifter around my house.
